Day by Day

This week has been less chaotic than the previous weeks, and our goal is to take each day as it comes. We have become more homebodies than ever as we attempt to keep JC free of colds and other germs through this waiting period. We are starting to get a rhythm of routine back, and it has been salve on the heart to see some familiar faces.

We did receive the medication this week that the doctors want to use to try and increase JC’s platelet count. This was quite an ordeal to get our hands on, but we are thankful it has finally arrived. We are praying it will assist in increasing her platelet count while she is undergoing the chelation therapy.

I am so thankful I get to report that her iron overload numbers did go down this week, so we are starting to see some small results from the chelation therapy. This is such a praise! We continue to pray her iron overload numbers will decrease.

Unfortunately, our Wednesday appointment didn’t go quite as planned, so we will head back to the clinic tomorrow morning as well. I am very thankful for the local clinic and team we have had the opportunity to meet. They have been such an encouragement and help throughout this entire year! I am not sure I can say enough good about her doctor and the nursing staff that have truly rallied beside us!

We continue to pray that JC will have little to no side effects from the additional medication she has started taking as well as praying these medications will aid her in this waiting period. We also continue to pray that JC’s anxiety will continue to lessen, and we can continue to have wisdom to find ways to help to her during clinic visits. We are still in need of prayers for peace, wisdom, and endurance. Finally, we continue to pray for healing for JC.

One of my favorite passages of scripture is Psalm 139:7-10

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right had shall hold me.”

I hope this passage is a reminder to you that no matter where we go, God is with us. It is my constant reminder that there is no place God is afraid to go – He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. He will be with our little family every step of the way through this entire process. He is for us, and He is with us.
