Celebration

This past week has been quite tumultuous; however, we got the beautiful privilege of celebrating JC’s birthday as well. The juxtaposition has been quite emotional.

Unfortunately, we had to take JC to this hospital this week due to a prolonged seizure. While there, she spiked a fever and was treated for an infection. Fortunately, they were able to get her seizure under control, and she was able to be discharged after a few days.

The hospital admission stopped her chelation therapy treatment, and she required a blood transfusion as well. In terms of her iron overload, this is a setback, but hopefully only a minor one.

We continue to look to God, our provider, for all we need. JC was very tired, angry, and overwhelmed this week, but by this weekend, most of those symptoms have subsided. We thank God that He continues to be with JC and us. He has been with us every step of the way.

Life is such a gift! We are reminded of this precious gift every day, but birthdays are a special time that brings to my mind thankfulness to God for another year of His goodness. I am truly thankful to be celebrating another year of life with JC!

JC did have to spend her birthday in the hospital; however, she was still able to have a celebration with family after her discharge. Everyone worked to make her birthday and party special from nurses to doctors, grandmas, aunts, uncles, and cousins! The joy she was filled with, was absolutely beautiful. Thank you to everyone who helped honor JC this past week.
