Thank You

We have been fairly busy over the last week or so. I was very thankful for this past weekend, and the ability to get some time away from the craziness and spend time together, relaxing.

JC did receive an additional blood transfusion last week. Thankfully, her iron numbers are still declining overall. We also had an enormous praise! Her platelet numbers have finally reached a high enough level that she can have surgery to have a port put in! This will aid in reducing the amount of needle sticks overall, and it will give her veins a much-needed break. It has been getting more and more difficult to get her IV lines in.

Her surgery is tomorrow, and we will have a big day. Please pray for JC, the surgeon, and all the support staff. Pray for JC to be calm, and for direction on the best way to help her through this surgery. Pray for the surgeon and support staff that they will be able to get her port in without any hiccups and that the entire surgery process will go smoothly.

We have been blessed beyond measure with gifts this past month, and it is truly astonishing how much love and care we have received. Each of you are an immense blessing to us. I am someone who wants to repay each kindness, and it is humbling to know all I have to offer if a sincere thank you. Thank you for the support and thank you for the prayers. We continue to pray for healing for JC and cherish every moment.

This past weekend, JC got to go swimming which is her favorite activity. It was so fun to see her splashing and full of so much joy. She loves the water and could probably swim every day. Very few things are as beautiful as the sheer joy in a child’s face.

Unfortunately, we also had quite a bit of grief last week as we had to say good-bye to our much-loved pet. She was a part of our family for 14 years, and she was one of the most special dogs I’ve ever encountered. She is already greatly missed.

We were privileged to have such a great dog for so long. It has me realizing more and more that the time we are given on this earth, and the people we are given to do life with are such blessings and privileges. We were not meant to be alone; we were meant for community, and we are very privileged to have such a beautiful community of people to surround us.
