I hadn’t realized how long it had been since I posted an update! We’ve had some schedule changes and busy weeks, so time has gotten away from me.
I am so happy to report that the port has helped tremendously with JC’s anxiety at appointments. It is still scary and tough, but she has been much more cooperative and has been less anxious on the way to appointments. This is such a praise and answer to prayer. Thank you for praying.
She was able to go about a month in between blood transfusions! This is the second month in a row that her body was able to wait; this has allowed her iron numbers to drop. We are so grateful for this new trend and the wisdom provided to the doctors to allow this change. We would appreciate continued prayers that her transfusions could continue to be more spread out.
We have a March date to recheck her iron overload via an MRI! This means nothing transplant wise will happens until after her March appointment, but it is a step closer. If the iron overload is decreased to a safe amount, then she will go to the next round of testing for the transplant. She will also have her heart checked at this same time. We would appreciate prayers for these tests reveal positive results.

There are so many emotions going through our house on any given week. God made us emotional creatures, but it is hard work to move through them. We are continually grateful to those who have sent cards, given a helping hand, and lended an ear. This journey has been hard and unseasonably warm (much like our January weather), but I continue to see the goodness of God. He has overcome death and breathes an everlasting hope in our hearts. With hope and the promise that God will be with us, we are able to face every obstacle. Much love to each of you!
