Thank you to each of you who has held JC up in prayer and showered her with love, compassion, and gifts! We have the best news! JC has continued to improve well beyond expectations! Glory to God!
JC’s red blood cell counts are now in the normal range consistently. Her white cell counts continue to be lower than normal, but much higher and safer than they previously were! Although they are not in the normal range, they are much safer and much more manageable numbers. Her iron levels in her organs are just now in the normal range! She is no longer being considered for a bone marrow transplant as her body has been able to rebound and recover! This has been due to some medication and therapy as well as time and a whole lot of prayer. We could not be more thankful, excited, and humbled all at the same time!
God has met so many needs and touched us in so many ways! Each of you has been a blessing brought by God! Thank you again and again!
JC still has extra needs, and she continues to have monthly appointments and extra specialists. However, they all agree she is recovering from this illness. They do believe her genetic abnormalities make her more susceptible to illnesses and that likely there was an outside trigger that depleted her bone marrow and caused it to stop functioning properly.

After so long, this is such a mountain top feeling. Our family has been able to slow down a lot and take time to enjoy each other and others around us. We are still in a bit of an adjustment stage to see what our new normal routine will look like, but it has been such a breath of fresh air! JC has matured over the past 2 1/2 years, and she has learned quite a bit! She is looking forward to the summer and swimming, which is her favorite activity! The constant that has gotten us through every season, every tough time is God. This world is fallen, broken, and hard to process often, but God in His rich mercy provides help throughout every season. A dear lady told me that many times when hard times come people blame God and use it to distance themselves from Him, but those times are when we most need to draw near to Him. I couldn’t agree more; when we are weak, He is strong. He is our source of everything good; stay close to Him. May you be blessed!
